Being Thankful

Thankfulness is foundational to our Christian life. It is that conscious response that comes from looking ahead of our blessings to the source of our blessing. We have been FORGIVEN, saved from eternal separation from God, and have been adopted into God's family. Is there any better reason for us to be Thankful?

In Luke 17 we find the story of the 10 lepers that found Jesus. They were desperate to seek Jesus' help. They were the social 'outcasts' of that day. They begged Jesus to show them mercy and heal them. As Jesus sent them on their way to show themselves to the priest, they were healed.

Only one leper went back to say "Thank You" to Jesus. Jesus asked him, "Where are the others?" What a shame that only one man considered the source of the blessing and stopped to Thank and Worship the ONE who had given this man his life back.

I have found myself "running past, or skipping over" the ONE that is the source of my blessings and just go on with my life. What a selfish person I am! God has given me this abundant life to freely enjoy and has given it to me "graciously." Why do I take this for granted? My prayer of gratitude should be daily, even moment by moment.

God's mercy, God's grace, His faithfulness, His strength, His wisdom, and many other blessings are from my Heavenly Father. They are given because of HIS great LOVE. How thankful I am for that LOVE.

As we celebrate this Thanksgiving Season I want to Praise my God for ALL His Blessings. Thanking HIM for His patience with me, Thanking HIM for His direction in my life, Thanking HIM for His daily love, care, mercy and grace. What a thrill to live in HIS Grace.

Truly thankful for our son in law Steven Canfield. He has been a joy and blessing to both Jerry and I. He has been the one and only man for Christy. She has such trust in Steven and we love that about him. He is a Godly man and wants his life to bring Glory to God alone. It is such a blessing to see him love our daughter with all his heart. He is a faithful husband and father to our 4 Canfield grandchildren: Grace, Faith, Aiden and Hudson. It is with gratitude and love that we Praise God for Steven and Christy.




So thankful for Nate's wife, Christina! She truly is his "completer". She is the answer to our prayer for Nate! We told her when they were engaged that we had been praying for her! Watching God work in our son's life for the wife God had for him, was just the hand of God! Christina is a Godly wife and mother to our 2 Hairgrove grandchildren: Connor and Megan. It is with thankful hearts that we Praise God for sweet Christina and Nate.





Thankful every day that God allowed me to be a Mother!! What a miracle and what a praise to God alone. I loved being at home with our three children as they grew up. I have such precious memories of playing house, playing school, building a fort, riding bikes, hosting birthday parties, going to numerous basketball and soccer games, making cookies together, making cards, playing games, going fishing, and a zillion more! What a joy for me to see my three children Christy, Nathan, and Jonathan grown now into men and a woman of God. Of course they are not perfect, but almost!! I am soo thankful that God gave me the privilege to be a mom to these three.
Being a wife and mother is one of the greatest blessings! "I love you three!"



Thankful for our 6 precious grandchildren. What a joy and delight they are to our hearts. We love to have them close as often as possible. We are always encouraged to see them and to watch how their parents are raising them to love God first. Thank you God for this wonderful blessing.
