"Now, don't worry but ........." "Are you sitting down? I have to talk with you." and the most recent one that made my heart do double time --- "every things fine!"
Why do we gasp for breath or the heart skips a beat or two when we read or hear reaction words?? I am the biggest 'gasp, scream, cry, and laugh' person when I hear or read these types of words. The latest one was written by my sweet and wonderful daughter in law, Christina.
I love the fact that she knows me well and knows how I would react if she started her blog: "Megan fell, cried hard and has a huge bump on her head!" :-{
Thankfully she didn't do that. She titled her blog: "everything's fine" And yet, as soon as my eyes scanned the title, I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG. Why?????
Do we wait to hear sad or bad news? Why aren't we wired to anticipate some great, exciting news with the same intensity? These are questions that need to be answered in my mind.
After reading the entire story or hearing the 'whole matter' my heart is fine. I will quickly pray for the situation or person and ask if there is anything I can do for them. Of course with my granddaughter Megan Hairgrove, we are distanced by miles and miles. Stopping by is out of the question. So we plan the next best thing .... skype!! I love it. I am able to see and hear Connor and Megan: our Hairgrove grandchildren. This way I can check them out personally and know
"everything's fine"
