Want to recline?

Have you ever purchased anything on line? Like from e-bay, or local web sites, or craigs list? Well we have. Since we moved some 4 months ago, we've been looking for some living room furniture, bed room dressers, etc. We checked on-line and the local paper.

Well we found a couple of recliner type of chairs and e-mailed and called. The first one was absolutely perfect! We drove about 30 minutes to the address of the owner. Just as we pulled up in front of the house, behold ...... a nice sharp truck backed into the driveway. Giving us the impression he was in charge!

As we walked up stairs to look and sit in the recliners, the owner told us we had first option, but that his wife told the truck guy he could also come at the same appointed time!! The truck guy didn't smile or say a word. He grunted like 'Tim the tool man'. I sat in one recliner, truck guy sat in the other. I loved it! So comfy and pretty. I came for the matching set recliners. Truck guy wasn't giving in!

I didn't want to make an enemy so I looked at Jerry. "It's up to you honey, do you want it?"
"Yes, I would want both, but this 'gentleman' (word loosely used) wants one" Truck guy did not respond. The owner said, "you two have to fight it out!"

At that point I was disliking the owners 'hair-brained' wife! I don't take on a fight with truck guys ....... never have and didn't see myself starting now. "OK, if this 'gentleman' will buy both then we will stand aside."

Jerry knew I liked the set, but we also know God is Sovereign in all things and someday we would find something else. We drove away.

About 2-3 weeks later Jerry found another matching set of recliners. Leather and just listed. He contacted immediately and was the first to respond. The owner gave Jerry the address. He told her he was going to pick me up and we would call when we were on our way. I was excited again. He printed out the photo for me. As we were on our way he call the owner back and tells her we will be there in about 15 minutes. She then tells us another guy (with a truck) is about to drive in and is buying both recliners!!!
What???? Not again ..... another truck guy gets the treasure! Now I was wondering why the incompetence of some people had risen to an all time high!!

Well, last night we saw a nice leather love seat recliner for sale. I sent an e-mail and we made plans to see it at 8:30pm. It was soooo pretty I just knew we would loose out to another truck guy. My faith was weary.

When we arrived I saw the most beautiful love-seat, Ashley leather, chocolate brown and looked brand new!!! I sat in it! Oh my ....... this was so comfortable. Much more comfy than the others. How could I have doubted? This couple are terrific. We had so much in common, and they praised the Lord with us as we shared our 'recliner journey' . They were thrilled to sell this beautiful love seat recliner to us and knocked off 50$ .
